That is how long it has been since the clutch throw-out bearing on Athena had a critical malfunction. She sits in the back yard next to my two other non-functioning bikes, looking sad and depressed.
And, what is up with Harley Davidson's parts department??? I ordered this bearing almost three weeks ago and was told delivery would be seven to ten days?!?!? Almost 21 days at this point. Are they hand forging this little thing???
Come on! According to some folks on the XL e-mail list, this is a common failure. With as many Sporties as there are, one would think these parts would be easy to find.
Under normal circumstances, I would just suck up this withdrawal and do some wrenching. I am moving! So, tools and parts are boxed up!
PLEASE, Motorcycle Gods, hear me! All I need it a frigging clutch throw-out bearing!!!

razor, im so sorry, i feel your pain.
gotta tell ya, since hd closed a factory, there has been complaint after complaint regarding supply of parts ordered direct. i myself had to wait excessively, from Nov - Jan.
if i were you, i would call cycle salvage yards, and/or, ask your dealership or hog chapter if they have a used parts bin. the mc gods will come through...
Ooooo.... Hog chapter! Excellent idea! I truly wish there was a good cycle salvage yard here. Alas, the nearest good ones are in Phoenix and LA.
You and Bob waited two months!?!?!? WOW!
two months, but, it was a wet windy winter here so...no complaints. im not riding today too, second SAT in a row that ive had to do paperwork from hell :( i love the blog pic, so fitting!!! lol.
hey, dealerships, btw, reach out to more than one. i have found over the yrs that some dealerships unfortunately do not have good follow-through. i hope that is not the case for you...
Nout worse than having a bike and not being able to ride it..hope you get your clutch throw-out bearings soon hun....
